Mockery
The story takes place during the Russian Revolution. Lon played a dim-witted Russian peasant. Sergei, who is befriended by the Countess Tatiana. She disguises herself as Sergei's peasant wife in order to get past the Boslheviks and deliver a message to a Russian military stronghold. Because Sergei helped her, she arranges a position for him with the rich profiteer with whom she is staying. There S...mehrergei is exposed to the political speeches of Ivan the cook, who tells Sergei everyone is equal and he should have the Countess in his arms if he desires. The Revolution heats up and as the city beging ransacked by the Boshevik army, the Countess finds herself alone in the house with Sergei. He attempts to attack her only to be interrupted by the storming Bolsheviks. The Countess'lover rescues her and orders all of the revolutionaries shot, but the Countess asks that Sergei's lefe be spared. Sergei cannot believe her generosity, and when the revolutionies attempt to attack the Countess a second time, he almost loses his life defending her.
